RESET: Part One (1 minute read)

And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

Genesis 45:4-5 KJV

Setbacks Are Inevitable

Setbacks manifest in various ways, from failures and disappointments to unforeseen challenges beyond our control. Despite our meticulous planning, life throws them at us without warning, disrupting our intended path. However, with the proper perspective, setbacks can catalyze profound personal growth and transformation.

Setbacks Caused by Others

Joseph's story in Genesis is not just a historical account but can be a mirror of our lives. It tells of one decision made by his envious brothers that caused chaos. As a result of their decision, he suffered; however, when the time came for him to retaliate, he refused because of his transformation.

An Opportunity to Showcase Love and Compassion

Joseph used his experiences as stepping stones for his growth and development. He seized the opportunity to let God's justice prevail and demonstrated love and compassion towards his brothers in their time of need. If we approach setbacks with an open mind, they can serve as powerful learning opportunities, enabling us to emerge stronger in the face of adversity and demonstrate love despite harsh treatment from others.
